The Innovation Bridge Technology Showcase and Matchmaking event hosted by the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST) is taking place today and tomorrow in Pretoria.

Disrupt Africa reported last month on the event, which is bringing together national and international tech companies, entrepreneurs, investors, financiers and other commercialisation partners to access the latest offerings from South Africa’s universities, science councils and companies supported by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA).

Innovation Bridge includes exhibitions and demonstrations, policy dialogues and plenary discussions, training sessions and one-on-one meeting opportunities.

“Going forward, it is foreseen that the Innovation Bridge event will be organised every two years as a prominent feature on South Africa’s calendar of innovation events,” said the DST.

“For the first time ever, you will be able to find in one place the best technology solutions from all South Africa’s public research institutions and TIA-supported companies, as well as investors, funders, entrepreneurs, captains of industry and other potential partners and collaborators.”

Meanwhile, Silicon Cape and SiMODiSA are still calling for submissions for the Startup SA Government Support Survey, which is looking to summarise the entrepreneurial community’s views for government stakeholders and will be presented at the conference.
