CITC Global Consulting, Customer Passion Point Limited (CPPL) and Zoom Runner Technologies have announced the first Startup Africa Summit will take place in Lagos, Nigeria on October 28-29.

The event, which will take place at the Eko Hotel and Suites, is themed “Scaling Up to Critical Mass” and aims to give aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn from startup veterans, showcase their startups, and engage in dialogue with policymakers.

The Startup Africa Summit will include panel discussions, keynote addresses, a policy advisory, startup contests and angel investment seminars, with confirmed speakers including the likes of Yemi Lalude, Tunde Kehinde, Mark Essien, York Zucchi and Neal Hansch. Both federal and state governments of Nigeria will also be represented.

“We have observed that there is a lot of attention paid to SMEs in Nigeria by the government, NGOs and the private sector,” said Ayo Sopitan, chief executive officer (CEO) of Zoom Runner Technologies.

“Very little is done to boost scalable entrepreneurship. We seek to draw attention to the Nigerian startup ecosystem so that investors, aspiring entrepreneurs, and policymakers will all contribute their quotas to boosting startups in Nigeria.”
