South African startup Fastvan is to roll out a new app on Android and iOS in January that allows users to send hundreds of parcels in minutes to local or global destinations.

Disrupt Africa first reported earlier this year on e-courier service Fastvan, which allows people to use their mobile phones have goods couriered from one place to another.

The startup is now set to roll out an updated version of its app, containing a number of new features. Users are now able to access multiple instant quotes at once, and accept the one they prefer.

They can also view a courier’s ratings, send hundreds of parcels to local and global destinations, and track the parcels in real-time. Freight has been added to the app, with clients able to choose the type of truck, input cargo type and track the journey.

“Our value proposition relies on the standardised quality of service and the transparency on price we are able to provide,” Fastvan said.
