Global early-stage startup competition for emerging markets Seedstars World has announced the 10 startups that will pitch at its event in Casablanca, Morocco, tomorrow (October 20).
Global early-stage startups competition Seedstars World has been hosting an increased number of local events across Africa this year, and has already picked winners in Mozambique, Tunisia, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Rwanda and Angola.
The winning startup from each country advances to the global final in Switzerland next year, where they will pitch for the chance of securing up to US$1 million in equity investment. Ten startups have been selected to pitch at the Casablanca event.
“Seedstars World is a platform connecting investors to the next generation of startup entrepreneurs, pulling the spotlight from Silicon Valley and Western Europe. As this will be our third time to organise our event in Casablanca, our excitement level and expectations are high. We have heard so much about the bustling startup ecosystem in Morocco and we are now here to witness the reality,” said Katarina Szulenyiova, chief operating officer (COO) of Seedstars World.
