Equity crowdfunding platform Uprise.Africa has launched in South Africa in a bid to help innovative local businesses raise capital while gaining market validation.

The platform has already had over 800 entrepreneurs register to be a part of its community of changemakers, while four entrepreneurs are fundraising as part of the initial offering.

Anyone that invests through Uprise.Africa becomes a shareholder in the business, with the companies currently raising Storied, Beerhouse, Jobvine and the Green Cab Company.

The goal of Uprise.Africa is to enable multiple investors to support entrepreneurs through buying equity in their businesses.

Entrepreneurs receive the financial support they need to take their business to the next stage while engaging in market validation, and investors develop their investment portfolio with less hassle as Uprise.Africa manages all legal and compliance matters.
