Startups wishing to apply to be part of the fifth cohort of Nairobi-based accelerator programme Nailab have until Friday, November 21 to submit their applications.

Applications for the fifth season of the programme opened on October 16, with Nailab looking for early stage startups with mobile, web and hardware solutions either in the idea or prototype stage.

Successful startups will from January next year undertake a six-month programme focusing on growing their ideas through training, mentorship and coaching on product development and business development

“Success in business is not a guarantee. Many factors have to be aligned to ensure you have the right tools to make it successful. As an incubator, with our resources and experience, we try to lead you to these tools and help you understand, who and what it takes to establish a successful business,” Nailab chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder Sam Gichuru told Disrupt Africa.

In September, Nailab announced it had raised a total of KES1 million (US$11,000) for each of the five startups in its third cohort, while the fourth cohort was unveiled in June through a partnership with the Kenya ICT Authority.
