Ghanaian startup Kudobuzz, a reviewing and marketing solution for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), has doubled revenues and seen 25 per cent growth in signups month-on-month.
Kudobuzz, which is incubated at Ghana’s Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), was founded in 2013 and makes it easier for businesses to find positive customer reviews on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter and publish them on their online storefronts.
The startup also helps merchants collect and display SEO-optimised product reviews, which helps stores show up more prominently in Google search results. The solution has seen exponential revenue growth and increasing adoption among online retailers on Shopify, Tictail, Storenvy and WordPress.
Kudobuzz’s figures for the third quarter of 2014 include doubled revenue with 80 per cent month-on-month growth, signups increasing by over 25 per cent month-on-month, and conversion from free to paid customers growing by 50 per cent month-on-month.
Chief executive officer (CEO) Kena Amoah said the figures validate Kudobuzz’s product offering and attention to customer service.
