Kenya’s Moringa School is to host a one-day HTML and CSS workshop for beginners, with participants to create a personal website by the end of the day.

The event – to be held on January 31 – will be led by two developers from the US-based Hack Reactor coding school.

Moringa School said attendees will be taken from the very basics of website development through to the more advanced concepts, and will have created a fully functioning website by the end of the workshop.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone who has wanted to build their own personal website but never knew where to get started,” workshop leader Oleg Yanchinskiy told Disrupt Africa.

“We’ll be covering the very basic fundamentals and moving on to more advanced topics in CSS.  The goal of this seminar is to take people who have zero coding experience and have them walk away with a fully functional (but basic) personal website that they can be proud of.”

The event will take place on January 31, from 9.30am at the Nairobi Garage; with a second seminar to take place in two-weeks time.

Tickets cost KES500, and can be purchased online.

Participants must bring their own laptop with Sublime or Notepad++ installed on it.
