Nominations are open for the TED Prize 2016, which will reward the winner with US$1 million and support from the TED community’s resources and expertise to turn their dream into a reality.

The prize is awarded each year, with nominations now invited for individuals to envision and execute a high-impact project that can spur global change, boosted by US$1 million from TED.

“Each year, we award the TED Prize to a leader with a bold, innovative vision for sparking global change,” TED said.

“Our TED Prize winner will have an ambitious wish – and the vision, pragmatism and leadership to turn it into reality.”

Nominations for the 2016 TED Prize close on March 31, with interviews to take place in June and July. The winner will be determined between October and December, and announced at the TED conference in Vancouver, Canada, in March 2016.

“A TED Prize winner is a rare and powerful combination: someone who knows how to capture imaginations as well as how to make a measurable impact. A TED Prize winner is a visionary and a pragmatist, a dreamer and a doer,” TED said.
