Wesley Lynch steps down as Realmdigital CEO to focus on Snapplify

Realmdigital founder Wesley Lynch has stepped down as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Cape Town-based digital agency to focus on his commitments with newly-funded Snapplify, with Simon Bestbier succeeding him.

Disrupt Africa reported in February South African venture capital (VC) firm AngelHub Ventures invested in e-book aggregation startup Snapplify, of which Lynch is also CEO, with the funds to be used to expand the product and team across multiple countries.

Lynch will now move to a chairman role at Realmdigital in order to focus on Snapplify’s growth full-time.

“The timing is right, for both companies, for this strategic leadership shift. Realmdigital is expanding more rapidly than ever and the opportunities for growth are plentiful, which is a good sign of things to come,” Lynch said.

Bestbier has been at Realmdigital for 10 years, with the company saying he has shown himself to be an innovative and passionate leader who greatly understands the needs of both his staff and clients.

He has already put strategies in place to grow the company to new heights and will be expanding into East Africa in the near future.

“Realmdigital has seen some fantastic growth last year and we’re keen to see what 2015 holds. We are fast becoming the development agency of choice for a number of enterprises in the retail, media and travel space and I’m excited to be part of the journey with the support of an incredibly solid team,” he said.
