Cortadito Club, which delivers quality coffee to a user’s door in just 15 minutes, was named the winner of the third Lean Startup Machine event to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, over the weekend.

The three-day event aimed to teach attendees a process and methodology for discovering which products would succeed in the marketplace through problem definition, customer validation and solution validation.

The workshop had strict time constraints and rules which tested the character and perseverance of the attendees. Six teams were formed on the Friday night after voting on various 50-second pitches.

After going through the weekend programme, the six teams – Cortadito Club, Bring A Child To Poland, iBill South Africa, Can I Buy, HandyConnect and CardioGrid – make five-minute pitches to judges Dipti Batta, Mispah Carelsen, Trevor Wolfe and Roslyn Lavery.

Cortadito Club was declared the winner and received 12-month residency at the Jozihub as well as a gift from sponsor PayFast.
