SA’s PriceCheck, SnapScan partner to bring offline stores into e-commerce

South African price comparison site PriceCheck, mobile payments app SnapScan and delivery service Pargo have partnered in an arrangement that will give customers the chance to find and buy products from offline catalogues from their mobile phones.

The new arrangement allows shoppers to browse for products from brick and mortar retailers on PriceCheck’s mobile-optimised catalogues, before paying for their chosen products with SnapScan.

Rather than choosing a delivery address, shoppers are prompted to select a Pargo collection point convenient to them, with PriceCheck hailing the simplicity of the whole process.

“Mobile commerce is the future of product discovery and purchasing in South Africa and PriceCheck, together with SnapScan and Pargo, are leading the way,” the company said.

“By combining these services, PriceCheck now provides the ability to find, buy and deliver products from offline product catalogues, right from your mobile phone.”

There are benefits for stores too, as offline shops are no longer required to build websites and choose payment gateways and delivery partners, with PriceCheck bringing together all of these logistics in-house at a “fraction of the cost”.

“The biggest benefit of the new offering is its mobile-centric approach, as it puts the power in the hands of the people who matter, customers,” PriceCheck said.
