Cherie Blair Foundation calls for mentors for developing market entrepreneurs

The Cherie Blair Foundation has called for mentors for its mentoring programme, inviting outstanding men and women to apply to work one-on-one with female entrepreneurs in developing markets.

The vision of the Cherie Blair Foundation is a world where women have equal opportunities and the capability, confidence and capital necessary to establish and grow businesses.

With this goal in mind, the foundations runs a mentoring programme, and twice each year invites applications from individuals wishing to work with a woman entrepreneur for one year, helping the entrepreneur achieve her goals and build her confidence and skills.

“You can enhance your own skills, profile and networks while making a difference to a woman entrepreneur in the Philippines, Egypt, Rwanda, China, Zimbabwe, Pakistan or a host of other countries,” the Cherie Blair Foundation said.

“You could find yourself working with a beekeeper in Uganda, a seed business owner in Kenya, a paper producer in Honduras, an app developer in Rwanda, a legal justice provider in Jamaica, a cake decorator in Malaysia or many more ambitious women.”

Mentors are required to be a professional or entrepreneur with at least seven years of relevant experience, able to commit for one year and able to meet online with a mentee for at least two hours a month.

“You’ll be part of a vibrant, online community of 3,000 mentees and mentors around the world. Mentors receive training and have access to events, a resource centre and a learning and networking forum,” the Cherie Blair Foundation said.

Interested parties can apply here by October 12.
