Property platform CasaMozambique launches after rebrand

Online property classifieds platform Propertymaputo.com has rebranded as CasaMozambique after raising funding last year, aiming to bring a fresh approach to traditional property searches.

Propertymaputo.com launched in June 2013 with a focus on serving English speakers in the Mozambiquan capital city of Maputo, while CasaMozambique focuses on other areas while also serving Portuguese speakers.

The rebranding comes after the startup raised an undisclosed round of funding last year from digital investment firm Frontier Digital Ventures. Casa Mozambique aims to provide a digital marketplace that puts the power of search into the hands of the consumer, while also enabling agents, developers, and accommodation providers to engage with their target markets.

New features on the platform include dual-currency mortgage calculators, home loan applications, house and home Insurance, physically mapped urban and tourism hot-spot areas, and neighborhood pricing trends.

“There’s healthy liquidity in the market with Mozambique experiencing a significant and exciting phase of growth. Paying close to attention to critical gaps we identified in current consumer options, we embarked on a journey to create an innovative marketplace to facilitate the interaction between consumers and providers in a new, fast and refreshing manner,” said Bryan Wester, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of CasaMozambique.
