Nigerian startup ecosystem support organisation TechCircle has arranged a pitch-and-win session in Lagos, offering startups the chance to walk away with US$2,500 in prize money as well as the opportunity to raise funding from Japanese investor Hiro Mashita.

Mashita is a major investor globally, most notably in India, and will be in Lagos for the event at the Cre8 space in Lagos on June 28.

Selected startups will pitch at the event, with the winner scoring US$2,500 in prize money provided by Mashita. The event will also feature networking opportunities.

The organisers said Mashita is also actively looking to invest in Nigerian startups, and available for meetings with attendees. He is specifically looking at investing in mobile-first startups in the fintech, energy, content and on-demand space.
