Online entrepreneurs portal Ye! has partnered the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to host the Startup Video Competition for Kenyan entrepreneurs, with applicants standing the chance to win a trip to the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Europe this November.

Kenyan entrepreneurs wishing to participate in the competition are asked to upload a two to three minute video pitch to the Ye! Startup Video Competition page, where the public will be able to vote for their favourite applicant.

Taking into account the public vote, he Ye! Selection panel will choose the top three entrepreneurs to pitch their businesses live at the UNCTAD XIV Youth Forum in Nairobi in July.

The Forum offers participants the opportunity to showcase their startup before an audience of international youth, international investors, and policy makers; and get feedback on their startup from business leaders and experienced investors.

The winner of the pitching event will win an expenses paid trip to Europe this November, to attend the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, hosted by the wider Child and Youth Finance International (CYFI) Awards.

The competition is open to entrepreneurs under the age of 30, with an innovative business in any sector.  The startup must be beyond the idea stage, and must have either a working prototype or be able to show revenues.

Applications can be made here, until June 26; and the deadline for public voting is also June 26.
