African startups have been invited to apply to join the Global FinTech Hackcelerator, which aims to develop market-ready solutions for the financial sector.

The Global FinTech Hackcelerator is organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in partnership with the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS), and powered by PwC and Plug and Play.

Up to 20 startups from across the world will be selected to participate in the 10-week virtual programme, which will culminate in a demo day at the inaugural Singapore FinTech Festival on November 15.

Teams will be provided with a cash stipend of US$20,000, along with access to mentors, infrastructure support and business development opportunities with industry leaders. The top three teams at demo day will also be awarded an additional US$50,000 cash prize.

Interested entrepreneurs should submit their ideas and solutions to the 100 Fintech problem statements provided by the industry here by July 31.
