Kenyan startups will next week be offered to pitch for US$5,000 in funding and support from the iHub incubator at the +254 Rising event in Nairobi.

Startup pitch competition +254 Rising will take place at the iHub on August 23, aimed at supporting the next generation of innovative Kenyan startups.

Teams of entrepreneurs will compete against each other in pitching their mobile products, tools and services that could form the basis of a brand new startup.

In advance of the event, the teams have been developing concepts, working with mentors from places like Silicon Valley, building prototypes, and testing their ideas in preparation for the big event.

The winning team will receive US$5,000 in seed funding and six months of mentorship and training at the iHub startup incubator in Nairobi.
