Jobs startup Wutiko wins Seedstars Senegal event

Wutiko, a professional network that helps users find jobs using machine learning technology, was named the winner of the Seedstars World event in Senegal over the weekend.

Wutiko will now head to Switzerland next year for the global final to pitch for the chance to win up to US$1 million in equity investment.

Seedstars World has already picked winners in Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, and will hold its next event in Zimbabwe on October 30.

Sharek, an application that lets anyone transfer anything they wish fast and easily, came second, with financial management solution for shopkeepers Weebi coming third. The other startups that pitched were PayDunya, JokkoText, Morinnove, DIRECT SOLUTION SARL, L’africamobile and Karangue.
