Entrepreneurial support organisation Africa Startup Ecosystem has launched a digital accelerator that will assist startups with product development, marketing and funding.

Africa Startup Ecosystem has been launched to host digital events, bootcamps, accelerators and startup expos for the region, and is a subsidiary of Global Startup Ecosystem, which also operates in Asia, the Caribbean, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.

The new digital African accelerator programme will begin with a full startup development bootcamp covering ideation, product development, marketing, customer acquisition and funding.

This will be followed by workshop keynotes from various entrepreneurs, investors and other stakeholders, with the programme concluding with a demo day where the top 10 companies pitch in front of judges from across the region for top prizes.

“The future is digital, so startup ecosystems in emerging markets need to take advantage of that with programmes like this one,” said founder Christine Souffrant Ntim. “We launched digital accelerators for entrepreneurs of Africa and the diaspora to close the resource gap and diversify global startup success stories.”

The pilot accelerator programme will accept 100 startups.
