Moringa School to host Women’s Boot Camp

Kenyan coding academy Moringa School is to host a female only edition of its “Moringa Prep” introduction to coding course, with the aim of graduating more women developers.

Moringa School said the decision to host a “Women’s Boot Camp” is informed by the belief that women in tech can contribute to moving the industry forward, as such the school hopes to support more women in becoming developers.

The five-week full-time course will begin in November, and teach participants the fundamentals of programming.

Graduates of the Women’s Boot Camp will be eligible to progress to Moringa School’s full-time immersive Moringa Core programme in January, where they will specialise in Android or full-stack development paired with soft skills matched to employer needs.

The course fee for Moringa Prep ranges between US$400 and US$800 (depending on location and nationality), and Moringa School is offering a 50 per cent discount for the women’s edition.
