Applications open for Itanna accelerator in Nigeria

Nigerian corporate Honeywell Group has opened applications for the second edition of its Itanna accelerator programme, which offers tech-enabled startups training, mentorship and US$30,000 in funding.

Honeywell Group launched Itanna, a four-month accelerator that provides the expertise, connections, institutional knowledge and capital required to enable innovative teams to build trailblazing enterprises, last year.

Four startups were chosen to take part in the inaugural programme – online accounting service Accounteer, mobile and web savings application KoloPay, commodities sourcing platform Tradebuza, and PowerCube, which provides an affordable power supply using renewable energy. Each company secured US$25,000 in funding.

Applications are now open for the second edition, with the investment amount having increased to US$30,000. Selected startups will receive training in things such as UI/UX, legal and HR, marketing, pricing models, and operational metrics, and mentorship sessions and guest lectures from renowned African entrepreneurs and business icons.

Applications are open until April 19, with Itanna also increasing the number of cohort companies to 10. The programme will run from June until September, and culminate in a demo day where the cohort will pitch to investors.

“Itanna will support investee companies to scale up their startups by leveraging Honeywell Group’s extensive network, industry expertise and, most importantly, access to capital,” said Itanna director Tomi Otudeko.
