The second edition of Kinshasa Digital Week will take place from April 12, bringing tech innovators and decision-makers together in the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Kinshasa Digital Week took place for the first time last year, gathering more than 30 international and national decision-makers, inspiring tech leaders and rising startups to share their experiences on business opportunities in the tech sector and digital marketing.

The event returns next month for the second edition, which will feature a comprehensive programme focused on pan-African innovation, and a dedicated expo area. It will kick off with B2B Day, featuring panels and workshops on topics such as public sector digital transformation, digital financial inclusion, health, and big data.

April 13 is Grand Public Day, with the event open to the general public and welcoming more than 2,000 startup employees, developers and students. Attendees will have the opportunity to discover the best in innovation and pan-African startups.

Organisers Kinshasa Digital also partnered Internews and the DRC’s Ministry of Health to run an Ebola-focused hackathon, which took place over last weekend. The winning team will be announced at Kinshasa Digital Week’s Grand Public Day.

“For this second edition, Kinshasa Digital is going to increase the scale of this annual gathering. The objective is to raise the profile of Kinshasa’s tech sector at a pan-African level and beyond. Kinshasa Digital Week is the unique opportunity to capture new trends, network and interact with the top leaders, thinkers and influencers,” organisers said.
